The Decks I Use And How I Use Them

I have ten decks and I use them for different things based on a combination of their energy, the imagery, and then the artist’s intention of how they were meant to be used. I included pictures and rambled a lot, so I’ve put them under the cut for you.

Rider-Waite Tarot

It’s like the most basic deck in town, everyone has one, it’s been around for a million years, its energy is very grounded in the 3D, so I tend to use it for core energy as well as to show how energy links to the physical, how things manifest. For very basic, surface level energy readings I’ll use this one. It’s more straightforward than the others as well.

Tarotwave by McKenna Calabro

This is my soul deck honestly omg. I love the Tarotwave so fucking much specifically because glitch art, vaporwave style images, and vibrant colors all being smashed together with very clear and grounded images is literally what I see when I channel. Like, that’s why I love distorted images and sound so much, it takes what’s in my head and puts it out into something I can see and hear much clearer, very validating, lol. I use this deck for myself only now. I channel for transmissions with it as well, and it just really vibes with me a lot. I really, really love it.

The Linestrider Tarot by Siolo Thompson

I use this one exclusively for relationship readings. I got it because the images reminded me of this book of fairy tales I had, which made me think of like a prince and a princess, like romantic relationships. But also, since I was relating them to my childhood as well, I use them for deep-rooted connections as well between friends and family.

Guardian Tarot by Beth Seilonen

This is like the creepiest deck that I have and I love it. When I first saw it on Amazon the images on the card creeped me out so fucking much I was like… that’s for subconscious shit, no doubt. So, the deck, because it’s so eery and it really digs deep into your brain the longer you stare at it, pulls you in a bit, which is exactly what it’s like when you start to asses your own subconscious. So, yeah, that’s how I use that one.

When it comes to Tarot decks, obviously, they all have the same cards, same system, but I really like to get cards that specifically have different meanings that deviate quite a lot from the Rider-Waite. Tarotwave follows the Rider-Waite pretty closely but the imagery and the addition of the Glitch.EXE card gives it its own perfect vibe that is extremely unique and special. Linestrider has meanings that are slightly off from Rider-Waite, and some of the cards are completely different. Then Guardian is unique all the way through.

Angelarium: Oracle of Emanations by Peter Mohrbacher and Eli minaya

This is a very special deck to me. It’s small but it carries a lot of strong energy, so I use it with very clear intentions for guidance and “lightning levels” of clarity. This is the deck that I use for the Waist Deep reading on my shop which I’ve found to be very intense and quite direct in spite of only being a 4 card reading. No matter how familiar I become with this deck, I always read the messages in the book all the way through for each card pulled in order to really connect as well as respect the energies being represented in those cards.

Wisdom of The Oracle by Colette Baron-Reid

This was my first oracle deck and I use her specifically for reading external energy and channeling universal energy. This deck and my Rider-Waite are what I use when I make tarot grids, similar to crystal grids but… with cards, lol. She is a she, lol, and I went through this motion of connecting with the energy as intended by the creator of this deck and found it to be split up between all the decks in use. Literally, this deck tells me to stop using it when it gets tired because I never cut that energy connection to the other decks and therefore her focus sometimes needs to be with other people. I’ve done a lot of energy work with this deck though, and it’s always given a good boost to what I was trying to do. Just can’t be fucking around or asking dumb shit or she’ll tap out, lol.

The Wild Unknown: Animal Spirit by Kim Krans

This deck is very based in the five elements, Water, Earth, Fire, Air, and Spirit, so I use it for that specifically. I channel and read energetic balances with this deck and I don’t really use it for anything else. The Elemental Alignment readings are the only time I have this deck out. I’ve noticed personally that my deck doesn’t really carry its own energy, every card is acting as a port. So, I have to focus and channel the person I’m reading’s energy through that deck and then I can get a good reading. I also have to cleanse it after each reading just to refresh the ports.

Celtic Tree Oracle by Sharlyn Hidalgo

As you can imagine, this deck is very grounded in Earth energy. I love it so much, I used to use it for meditations quite a lot, but then I found that it was a much better channel for roots and guidance. I use this deck for the Ancestral Influence reading on my shop and it’s so much better used there, lol. The images are amazing to look at, they all have that nice golden hue to them. They’re really nice to look at and focus on under candlelight as well.

Black Moon Astrology Cards by Susan Sheppard and Jane Marin

A bit obvious. I use these to read for cosmic energy and influence. Pretty simple. I’ll use these for grids as well when I want to direct and align with certain shifts. I’ll, on occasion, use these for the “Messages from your Guides/Spirit Guides” portion in the Premium Documents on my shop when someone’s energy is more grounded and they are more influenced by cosmic shifts as Guides can sometimes literally bounce energy off the planets and shit in order to transmit it. Very fun to read for that kind of thing, lol.

Chakra Reading Cards by Rachelle Charman

Just as the Chakras incorporate energy into the body and link the physical self to the energetic body, I use these cards to do just the same. I use these to gauge energetic flow within the physical body when focusing on the chakras represented in those cards, and when I’m focusing on the words and imagery, I’m more so focusing on the directed energy from the Higher Self to the core. Energy flow, I guess, is what I read with these, but the location of that flow, the intent of the flow, and the significance of it changes how I use the cards specifically. I like to use these to read for soul progression as they link up with the Higher Self’s directed energy to the core.
