*The video version includes cleaner narration and “2020 Notes” to elaborate and clarify points made in the original reading in 2018.

I was actually kind of surprised to see this but then I was like, lol, of course. These two cards follow each other and they show hard work and generosity. For Yoongi, this is what he gives to the group. In a way it’s almost like self-sacrifice but like slightly but not at all toned down.

Every bit of his energy goes into working for the group and giving himself to the people in the group. Not only is he generous with his money, but he is also generous with his time, energy, and attention. If the image on the card was the focus then the man in the image is Yoongi and the seven pentacles on the bush represent his focus on BTS. The six pentacles on the 6 of Pentacles are representative of his focus on the other members. It all fits quite well as the work goes towards the group and the generosity goes towards the individuals.

Namjoon - 6 of Cups

Namjoon sees Yoongi just as I would expect him to. It’s a card that mirrors the generosity of the Six of Pentacles, the individual connection, but the Six of Cups, very specifically, has a lot to do with memories and nostalgia. This deeply, deeply connected to their past together, their friendship, and that very strong emotional bond that they share. There’s almost this sense of romanticizing the past, even the struggles. That feeling of looking back at the difficulties that they faced together and smiling about it simply because they were going through it together and he sees where it got them and how they grew together, what they managed to build together.

It’s connection back to the Six of Pentacles, the reflection of it, puts Namjoon’s focus on how Yoongi cares for the others. In a way, it’s like he can see Yoongi implementing the lessons they learned together or speaking from personal experience, teaching the younger members in that way, and for Namjoon, it just brings up this very nostalgic feeling.

Hoseok - The Hanged Man + Page of Swords + The Hermit + The Empress

Hoseok, of course, has all this nonsense here. Fucking hell, honestly. I can’t remember what reading it was but there was something similar to that where someone was seeing all the side of a person and this is kind of the same thing. Like, the Hanged Man is default Yoongi, Page of Swords is Yoongi when he’s with Hoseok (they have that brain thing going on), then the Hermit is Yoongi when he’s… being a hermit, more contemplative, more within himself, and then The Empress reflects that very giving and nurturing aspect of him.

The Empress is actually a great stand-in for the combination of the 6 and 7 of Pentacles. He sees all aspects fo Yoongi and there’s this awareness there of how each of them operates. I assume it’s because Hoseok also has different “modes” so he’s more sensitive and careful about Yoongi’s. Like, he’s very aware that when Yoongi is Hermit mode it’s better not to bug him, but when he’s Page of Swords mode, it’s the best time to have a conversation. Stuff like that.

Jimin - 10 of Cups

Jimin sees Yoongi as a source of happiness and security. Literally, I was thinking about how my baby cousin will have the most horrendously cheesy grin on his face whenever my Gram walks in the room like it’s instant happiness. That’s kind of what it is for Jimin. Yoongi, this caring and generous person is like happy-fuel for Jimin. There’s this balance there as well and I feel like it comes from how they communicate and what they communicate about. It’s deep and personal stuff and it’s like everyone goes to Jimin to unload, and then Jimin goes to Yoongi to unload. So, it almost feels like Yoongi is a safe-space almost when Jimin is really having a hard time.

There’s just a lot of appreciation, admiration, and an exchange of emotional validation and healing.

Jin - The Emperor

The Emperor is like this total hard-ass who just happens to be the best dad in the world, and that’s how Jin sees Yoongi and that is the most hilarious thing ever, lol. This is more in conviction though, like, this isn’t really around how Jin sees Yoongi acting towards “the kids” is how he is towards the world as a whole.

Like, it’s very domineering and very judgemental the way The Emperor looks out over his empire, right, but he does it out of care. It’s his empire and he only judges what he sees as wrong and only dominates the act of change towards something better for the sake of his people. He looks like a hardass because that’s the role he has to play to get anything done. No one will listen to the Emperor if he was as soft and emotional on the outside as he is on the inside, you know. (That’s some Pisces shit too, lol).

So, Mr. I-analyze-everyone-down-to-the-fiber-of-their-being sees Yoongi from the outside in, but he’s very aware that this Emperor thing is something he wears for the better. There’s a lot of respect there as well, like more along the lines of admiration and understanding. It’s almost like Jin doesn’t really like it, but he understands why Yoongi is like that so he just lets it be, but he really, really focuses on it.

Taehyung - The Moon

“He’s a mystery to me,” is what I heard and of course that would come through between him and Yoongi. It’s the same thing over and over again, and I’ve talked about this in a bunch of other readings so I won’t linger on it. Taehyung’s lack of inner connection makes it difficult to connect with others in a way where he can understand them. He can connect, but he can’t fully understand how people feel what they feel and how they express. Because of that, Yoongi, the Pisces, is very hard to understand and relate to for someone like Taehyung who has nearly no water energy at all and is loaded with Earth.

The Moon is a symbol of what is hidden and easily misunderstood and I was seeing Taehyung as being the three animals in the image, as in he looks at Yoongi in as many angles as he can but he can never fully wrap his head around what he is. Like, there’s always a “dark side of the moon” that he can’t see or make sense of no matter how hard he tries.

I think out of everyone, Yoongi is still very hard for him to connect with and because of that, he’s very, very observant of him.

Kook - Page of Wands + The Chariot

The card I always associate with Kook is the Page of Wands so that fact that it came out with The Chariot kind of vibes with the idea that Kook sees Yoongi as an inspiration just like with everyone else. He implements certain parts of Yoongi into his own action and way of thinking. I was kind of seeing it as lighting a match. Like the Wand is a match and The Chariot is the little matchbook that you use to light the match. It’s the drive and encouragement to do something more and to stay focused on something. I imagine that comes from Kook’s view of Yoongi’s work ethic and his passion towards his work. It’s something that inspires him and adds that Fire and drive to the Page of Wands. Very dope.
