To begin, I just did a simple energy reading to open things up a bit. With this, I only got a little bit of information, and I assume that’s because I had her birth chart up and therefore it just wasn’t necessary to paint a whole grand image of her core energy with the cards.

This simple set shows that within her core, Scorpio (Death) and Taurus (The Hierophant) are the two dominant energies that she is working with foundationally in this lifetime. Of course, Taurus is the home of her Sun, Moon, and Mercury, and Scorpio is her rising, so she’s been given a lot of drive and push towards inner projection and bringing the very deep internal matters out into the open in a very concrete way. The duality there is really interesting as well.

The 10 of Pentacles came out along with the 10 of Wands to further emphasize how streamlined the connection between the inner formation and the external manifestation is. It’s going directly from energetic accumulation to a solid form, immediate projection. Death, or Scorpio, acts as the gasoline behind the physical machine of The Hierophant or Taurus, which is the main display, which I’m sure also is amplified by her Mars in Leo in relation to performance and expression.

This is lending to a lot of Water energy stimulation through creative processing and display. She has the King of Cups there with the 7 of Cups behind him, which looked to me like a thought bubble full of all these crazy stories that the King then chooses to tell, displaying one cup at a time very carefully. Obviously, she’s very well known for her visual storytelling and having a very hands-on part in her work and the final product, especially when it comes to the display of something as she designs her outfits and writes and directs her videos for her music.

The Lovers also came out but I didn’t include it in the final spread since it kind of flew off to the side, but that is a card that, for me, represents the alignment and synchronicity of the layers of consciousness, which is something that is needed in order to actually achieve that kind of direct manifestation and creation that is displayed between the 10 of Wands and the 10 of Pentacles.

There’s a lot of intuitive energy in that, along with self-awareness and assessment as there is a very careful way of projecting things through the King of Cups. It’s not a filter or anything, it’s more about consciously slowing things down in order to make sure the image that other people see matches what she has in her head, or that the cup that the King holds out for people to see matches the one chosen from the 7 of Cups.

The Reading:

Current State of Core Energy: Cobra — Fire

There’s a lot of internal focus here but it’s being projected very smoothly. It’s as if she has been really focused on inner work and exploring the depths of her own soul, and is now applying it, or has been applying that to her connection to the outside world. It’s centered around observation and gaining more self-awareness and awareness in general.

The Cobra itself is called the inner teacher and I keep thinking of it very literally as if the Cobra, a symbol of her own higher awareness, is sitting on her shoulder and guiding her. Like, teaching her how to “stay on the beat” and sway with everything around her while still being an independent force. It’s about maintaining that Fire, accumulating energy through observation, and then keeping it in check.

There’s also this feeling of holding back or being patient, practicing patience. This could be both towards herself or towards people or situations around her. There’s a big emphasis on staying level-headed and staying above people mentally.

Actually, the kind of stability and control, as well as conscious awareness that you need to have in order to project energy and actually manifest it on the scale that she is, you would need to have this kind of “teacher” in the core, something to contain and stabilize everything. If you think of Melanie as the Cobra herself, then the insides, all the way to the bones, are currently made up of Fire, or the 10 of Wands, and the skin that holds everything together is stable and grounded Earth, or the 10 of Pentacles. They are moving along together very fluidly, embodying the essence of the King of Cups.

Elemental Water Alignment: Otter — Water

As expected, she does have Water energy present in her Water alignment, her area of emotions, creativity, and intuition. This is much more centered around creativity and emotions though as her intuition seems to be more foundational, more in the realm of her conscious perception rather than purely subconscious. So, just focusing on emotions and creativity, the Otter would seem to be a perfect fit as it’s very joyful and playful energy. It’s very open-minded, relaxed, and goes with the flow.

In terms of how her soul moves, it’s very fluid and things really seem to glide over her even if it doesn’t seem that way superficially. This is where a lot of patience and inner stability can be found, and can really lay a foundation for being able to maintain a positive outlook or having an optimistic approach to life, especially when it comes to emotional and creative expression.

In spite of the Otter being lower-level energy, or feeling a bit more mundane, this is actually resonating with a “bigger picture” vibe, that kind of feeling of just being settled in a higher perspective. Like, she’s high up enough to see how much bullshit there is in life in the 3D so she just doesn’t get too bothered by it, she’s just here to work, play, and enjoy herself.

Elemental Fire Alignment: Oyster — Water (rev.)

This is pretty interesting because this has to do with the whole practicing patience and learning to really hold things down and stay stable. The Fire Alignment is where you can see how and towards what the core energy is being projected, and here it’s almost not. With this Water energy here it’s coming off like the pure projection is being guided back around into the Water Alignment, which is staying very peaceful and chill. It’s strange and kind of confusing because there is a bit of tension here and with how this is being redirected you would expect there to be some kind of conflict in the Water alignment, but there isn’t.

I assume this is because any tension, anger, hatred, whatever, that she may want to project verbally she’s projecting through her creativity. So, it’s a much more peaceful and fulfilling release and projection of tension that doesn’t throw out anything that is inherently harmful. Again, it’s being contained in Water, the Fire is being cooled down. Especially with the aspect of the Oyster hiding a pearl, it can be seen as this tension and potentially negative energy is being used as a source of inspiration but is not being allowed to fully consume her.

Going back to the Cobra, you can think of the Oyster as the skin of the Cobra that contains the Fire, except here it’s more of a matter where the lessons of the Cobra are being put into action by the Oyster. It does give this sense of something quite big being in the works, and that may have to do with her upcoming album or other projects that she’s working on.

Elemental Earth Alignment: Deer — Earth

I was actually going to make a note in the previous placement about how with this balance of Water, Earth, and Fire she gave off this vibe of The Empress in terms of her ability to manifest, and that’s exactly what this is here. The Deer in this deck is very, very similar to The Empress in tarot in her grounded and nurturing energy being put towards building up a whole world of pleasures and beauty. The Earth Alignment shows the level of groundedness, connection to the physical plane, and self-awareness.

Basically, she recognizes her ability to create and literally build worlds, which I think everyone can recognize with her music and artistry. It’s a recognition of the balance between Earth and Water, the aspect of creation, that wet clay that can be molded into anything. Going back to the Otter, it’s art class. It’s that freedom to play and float around in a sea of creativity and then actually bring it to life.

Straight up she recognizes herself fully as an artist, it’s where she holds her power and finds her purpose. It’s very closely related to Venus energy as well.

Elemental Air Alignment: Moth — Air

And going right along with everything else so far, the Moth has appeared here in the Air Alignment, the area that governs the conscious level thought process and communication. Similar to the Otter, the Moth is actually the first Air energy in the deck and thus is considered underdeveloped, but here it’s more in line with a big picture, no-fucks-given kind of vibe. It’s just playful and very, very free to express and explore.

The whole thing with the Moth is that it’s extremely eager to learn new things, so much so that it can’t actually focus on anything for long enough to actually learn about it. It’s a bit spastic and all over the place, but with Melanie, it feels more like there’s just this sense of limitless potential. There’s a sense of freedom in being able to really branch out and try new things. It’s like someone going to the library and checking out 100 books and just being like, “well, who’s going to stop me?”

Everything is just very, very smooth and open for her to work with and experiment with both her internal and external worlds.

Higher Self Core Alignment: Tiger — Fire

Oh, hell yeah.

The Higher Self Core Alignment is where you can see what the Higher Self is trying to push down into the core in order to aid in the progression of the current process, or to initiate a new process entirely. This right here, the fucking Tiger, is literally what the Oyster/Cobra is containing.

The Tiger is a very nice and powerful balance of Fire and Water energy, combining force with a very sharp intuition and flexibility. This here is targeted focus towards creation and manifestation. Its almost like when she’s within herself she’s the Moth and the Otter, playful and calm but very, very above everyone else in terms of awareness. She keeps her awareness to herself like she projects a more simple nature through the Otter and Moth, but literally underneath she’s the Tiger.

As this is the energy that the Higher Self is pushing towards the core, at some point this will be what she projects. Like she’ll come out here with us normal folk and just obliterate us in some way, which is very exciting.

That’s all I have for this one, thanks for reading!
